The One Where They Meet

Our story began in 2007. Kendall had just completed her freshman year of high school, and Alex his sophomore year. Unbeknownst to us, the universe was poised to set the stage for a romance of epic proportions. Beneath the summer sunshine at UCLA, our 17-year love story began in — wait for it—a television production class. From day one, we clicked—chatting through every class, co-directing each other’s productions, touring the Warner Bros. lot (shoutout to Dawn!), and sharing endless laughs. But as that unforgettable summer ended, Alex returned to Boston, and Kendall stayed in Los Angeles.

The One With All The Talking

Before Kendall met Alex, she could barely be bothered to keep her RAZR phone charged, let alone send a text message. Much to the chagrin of Mitch, who footed the $400 text messaging bill that Kendall racked up texting Alex that summer, she finally found inspiration to keep her phone charged. Over the next 12 years, the conversations continued, and we refused to let distance come between us. From our “first date” (though we didn’t know it at the time) in 2008 at Stephanie’s on Newbury Street to weekly phone calls that became our lifeline, we built a bond rooted in laughter, deep conversations, and shared dreams. Alex’s long drives often became our favorite time to talk, savoring every moment of connection until Kendall hit a dead zone in the valley, leaving us eagerly anticipating the next call.

The One Where They Go To College

At one point, Kendall had a brilliant idea to follow Alex to Quinnipiac for college, but her mom wisely told her, “You can’t follow a boy to college; he might not want to date you, and then you’ll want to transfer.” At the time, she may have been right. With her Quinnipiac dreams crushed, Kendall started her own journey at Chapman University. After graduation, Alex frequently found himself in California to visit his buddy Pat (who would later become our wedding officiant), but he would always make time, no matter how short the trip, for an adventure with Kendall. Each visit added another chapter to the love story we didn’t yet know we were writing.

The One Where Alex Grows Up

In the spring of 2018, Alex finally realized what Kendall had known all along: she wasn’t just his best friend—she was something more. Shortly after, Alex planned a trip to California, specifically to see Kendall this time (sorry, Pat!) and so began the romance chapter. What started as a “casual” dinner at Kendall’s favorite Italian spot on Ventura Blvd. turned into an unforgettable night filled with laughter, wine, and a spark neither of us could ignore. From that moment, we both knew this was something extraordinary.

The One Where They Travel

Over the next six years, our love story blossomed despite the 2,830 miles between us. We alternated 3-day weekends in Studio City and Long Island, met up in cities where Alex was on the road with the Islanders, and shared countless adventures to Beacon, Boston, Hawaii, Italy, Kansas City, Laguna Beach, London, Maine, Montauk, Nashville, Santa Barbara, and of course, Park City. In each of these cities, we created moments we would never forget.

The One Where Ken Ends Up in NY

In 2020, we were finally afforded the opportunity to spend months on end together in our little bubble in Douglaston, Queens. It was during this time that we explored our shared love for cooking, spent hours and hours wandering Douglaston Manor (sometimes late at night in the dark in near 0° temperatures, much to the frustration of Dawn and Paige who got Kendall’s Apple Watch notifications), baked copious amounts of bread, and began a lifelong love affair with Central Park where we would retreat to escape the confines of our apartment. From this period forward, Kendall became a somewhat regular fixture in New York because life was just better with Alex by her side. She always insisted California was home, but slowly realized that “home” isn’t an address, or a building, or walls - it’s wherever we are together.

The One With Happily Ever After

In the fall of 2024, we settled into our first home together with our beloved fur-baby, Ellie. A few months later, Alex proposed in Central Park—our haven and favorite place in the city. And now, here we are, ready to begin the next chapter of our story—a future we’re excited to build together.
